what I have to do? My project will change? I have to migrate anything? Have much troubles? How will be the process to change the community version to the professional?

i have developed a web application for internal use running on an internal iis server using coolite 0.8.1 community edition.

now i have to publish this application on our portal. the application will be available only after the login to the portal and only to our employees.

do i need to buy the professional edition?

I am currently developing a series of components with Coolite Community Edition's source code, actualy my components are inside Colite toolkit assembly. If I'll use my components in a commercial application, should I share my source code with the Coolite Community Edition source code?

Commercial or community for charity

Hi

I work for a charitable organisation and I've been tasked to develop a system that can track items and record item history. The application will mainly be used internally - on site - but there is scope for it to be used offsite as well. The confusion I'm facing is that we will need to provide access to the system to other organisations which aren't on the charities payroll. This access will not be charged and will be used to administer the items. My question is, will the community license be sufficient for my needs or will I need to upgrade to the commercial license?

1. Developed at the client site.
2. Will only be used internally by the client.
3. The source will be maintained by the client.

Will the Community Edition License be what is required?

I am employed primarily by a consulting firm, and work daily with a number of clients. Typically, they provide me with a computer to work on and the necessary tools (Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, etc) to do development work.

If I am developing software as an agent of that company as part of my routine duties (i.e., not on a billed project) that will only be used within that company, and not by anyone else, do I need to have my primary employer purchase a commercial license, or can I use the community license?

I'm working on an assessments website where users will get to take an assessment and get results. Users will have to pay for certain features on the website, to help fund development.

We will not be distributing/selling code in any form.

You can purchase Developer Licenses on an as needed basis from http://www.coolite.com/purchase/. If at some point you wish to upgrade to a Team License, we can credit your previous purchases against the Team License fee.

Once a license is purchased, the license itself does not expire. If you purchase prior to the v1.0 release, you are also entitled to a free upgrade to v1.0 and all v1.x upgrades.

The Support Subscription is an annual fee if you wish to continue with the premium support. This is not required for licensing. There will also be a discount for Support Subscription renewals... probably 25-40%. More information and Support Subscription pricing is available at http://www.coolite.com/purchase/#support.

At this point (2009-06-18) ExtJS 3.0 has not been officially released. We have started the process of integrating ExtJS 3.0 and our v1.0 release will include ExtJS 3.0.

There is no firm time frame for the public v1.0 release, but an initial preview will be available to Support Subscription holders soon.

I'll update the RoadMap (http://www.coolite.com/support/) soon to reflect our current schedule and plans.

In general, we are not available for contracting work, but please feel free to contact us (http://www.coolite.com/contact/) if you have specific requirements and we can discuss. We do hope to provide contracting and training services soon, but currently our focus is on finishing the v1.0 release.

In general we support more components than what is available in the ExtJS download. There are many extra Extensions and Plugins included in the Toolkit. If there's something specific you feel we're missing, please let us know and we'll do our best to include.

Hi Coolite Core Development Team,

I would like to verify if the Coolite Community Edition is applicable with my scenario, as I'm planning to develop a web application that will be for internal use by selected staff within our organization/company. That web application will be then hosted on a co-located datacenter (that is outside our premises), by which accessible via Internet and/or VPN. The web application is closed source and will never be distributed, as this is a proprietary application and for internal use only.

Can you please confirm if CE allows this scenerio? As much as possible we use open source or free solutions/components with our internal projects/applications.

I'm a little confused on the licensing terms. We are developing an application utilizing the Coolite library. This application will be available on the public web to our subscribers. We are NOT going to distribute the code, they will only have access via a web browser as an application. Does the Professional license allow us to do this? We don't want to be required to share our application code with anyone outside the company. Any clarification would be appreciated.

I am considering purchasing the Professional Edition. I see that you get SVN access for the source with the Professional Edition (although is a support subscription required for this too?) - however, what does this give you that the standard installation doesn't (as you provide the source with that anyway?).

For instance, you currently have Coolite Toolkit Version 0.7 (at the time of writing) available for download - would version 0.8 or development versions be available via SVN? The reason I ask is because I would primarily be making the purchase for use with ASP.Net MVC development work.

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I am a member of a team and we share a common solution for all team members.
One of the projects in the solution is Web Site that I am its only developer.

Will other members of my team will have a problem compiling the solution?

Will our build environment has to have it's own license?

- If I install a web application (developer with Coolite Toolkit Professional Edition) in many servers into the same company, should I pay many licenses for those? Or the only license I have to pay is that one I use to develop my application?

Its been a little while since I've been back, but if this info is out there already please point me to it.

What's the difference between the two versions on the download page? Will there be feature differences between the editions in the future, or does Professional just mean early access and latest code availability, and support?
